0.2:Hi James Chantel! Thanks so much for your comment. We rlealy enjoyed our stay in Villa Magnolia, and it was our first stay in Sardinia too. One thing I'd recommend is that if you're looking for the beach, cross the road in front of the villa and turn right along the main road, then turn left along a dirt track: you'll be on a lovely part of the beach within ten minutes, with little cafe9s and shallow turquoise water that you can wade quite far in.If you head into Posada and follow the signs for the spiaggia' you will end up walking for miiiiles, so try to avoid doing that as it's a boring road. Of course there's a nice nature walk if you turn left out of the Villa and then after around ten minutes you'll see it signposted across the road. That ends up at the beach too, eventually: but there's also farm shops along the route selling wine and fruit. To be honest we found that it was a fairly peaceful little place. I'd definitely recommend renting a car (don't use Goldcar: I've recently had a terrible experience with them) as the public transport is a bit iffy and there's a big road with no pavement that you have to walk along to get into town.If you take a car you'll be able to see some of the surrounding villages, which we missed out on as we were on foot. Then again there's a bus that goes around the area, and you can catch it from just across the road from the Villa (it's only a couple of Euro). This takes you all the way to Olbia Airport. We were told by the girl in the tourist office not to rely on buses so we just took her word for it. Wish we'd been more adventurous now! For food, there's an amazing pizza place in La Calletta (when you get to the beach, keep heading along that way and you'll end up in town) but I didn't jot down the name. It's on a corner, and it has lots of seats outside with a canopy. You can't miss it! OH, buy mozzie cream and repellent before you go! We took plug-ins but they didn't work and we ended up very itchy and bitten: it was not pleasant. We ended up having to find a pharmacy, where a wee tube of antihistamine was 8 Euro and repellent was about 12 Euro. So pick it up in Boots on the way over instead. Also if you're staying in Villa Magnolia: I didn't notice the first night, but they strip the beds and give you the linen to add yourself, so watch out for that as we were so tired the first night we didn't bother. If it's just the two of you I recommend taking the mattress off the sofa bed and putting it on top of the mattress on the bed. Makes things a lot comfier!
